Cody makes it a special night for fan who beat cancer at Dynamite

During the post-show antics on Dynamite last night, Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Ruby Soho all entertained the crowd before going home.

But it was a special night for one particular fan named Joe, who during the show tweeted that he got the news today that he finally beat cancer.

Cody took his phone out and called Joe out as the search was on to find him among the crowd. Eventually the real Joe stepped up and he was invited down to the ring where Tony Khan held the ropes for him.

Joe said that the last year has been awful and the news he got today was one of the best things that ever happened to him. The crowd popped huge and started a “Joe” chant.

“I think you need to leave here today, officially 1-0,” Cody told Joe. “And there’s no bigger AEW official than this man right here,” Cody said, pointing to AEW President Tony Khan.

Rhodes then told Tony to “count it” as Cody laid flat on his back for Joe to cover him for the pin. Joe thought about it for a second and then just put his foot over Cody to a huge laugh from the fans and everyone in the ring as Khan counted to three.

You can see the post-show stuff that happened below.
