CM Punk suffers torn triceps, out for up to nine months

Former AEW World champion CM Punk suffered a torn triceps during his match against Jon Moxley at All Out according to Dave Meltzer of the Observer and assuming he’s still around in AEW, it will take up to nine months to return to action.

Punk suffered the injury when he went for a tope in the opening minutes of the match and to his credit, soldiered on and finished the match as scheduled. Following surgery, a typical torn triceps injury require a minimum of six months of hard rehab and that can stretch to three more months depending on the severity.

This is the second big injury that CM Punk suffered this year after shattering his foot on the Dynamite after Double or Nothing in early June. He required a four and a half hour surgery to fix that one and many weeks of rehab.

It is believed that Punk is currently suspended as well for his role in the backstage brawl that took place after All Out. While nine months is a long way out, a lot of talent in AEW are not keen of having Punk back in the locker room so it will be interesting to see what happens when, or if, that time comes.
