CM Punk officially announced for Collision’s debut in Chicago

CM Punk has been officially confirmed returning to AEW at the upcoming Collision live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, June 17.

The announcement of his return was done by AEW President Tony Khan, who yesterday showed up on Dynamite again to give out the news personally.

“I am here tonight to give you a little bit information on the debut of AEW Collision,” Khan said. “I am here to announce that AEW Collision beginning June 17 will feature…CM Punk.”

The announcement was met with a huge pop and chants of CM Punk from the San Diego crowd.

This will be the first time that Punk will appear on AEW television since the All Out pay-per-view and the subsequent post-show press conference which kicked off a series of events that rocked AEW.

Punk’s involvement was pretty much confirmed when last week the company said that the first episode of Collision would be in Chicago.

The event originally had the tagline “The Second Coming,” but that hasn’t been used officially yet. Punk’s debut in AEW in 2021 carried the tagline “The First Dance.”
