AEW star Andrade El Idolo will be out of action for several months as the former NXT champion revealed in a post on social media that he underwent surgery for a torn pec muscle.

“My first surgery. I can’t believe it happened,” Andrade tweeted. “A few months ago, I tore my pectoral. Thanks god! I could and wanted to finish my match. I kept working because I love the business but we know that many people do not value your effort, these days off I took the opportunity to go to Dr.”

El Idolo was recently suspended by AEW for his involvement in a backstage incident with Sammy Guevara, an incident which started online and then became physical.

He has not wrestled for the promotion since September 4.
