All In backstage security video shows Punk/Perry altercation, fans start CM Punk chant in arena

AEW aired the security backstage footage from All In, showing the shuffle between CM Punk and Jack Perry, last night on Dynamite as promised.

However, the footage was pretty much exactly as CM Punk described in the interview with Ariel Helwani. It showed Punk going up to Perry and the two are exchanging words before Punk shoved Perry and then locked him in a choke hold.

Samoa Joe and others who were around quickly jumped in to interfere and break up the fight as Punk is pulled away. Punk then turns his attention to presumably Tony Khan who is off to the side and off camera and says something to him and that was pretty much it.

The angle however didn’t work out in AEW’s favor as fans inside the arena started a CM Punk chant.

Before the video was introduced, Tony Schiavone looked super uncomfortable at the commentary desk and many industry insiders are reporting that there was a lot of unhappiness backstage that the video was eventually released because it accomplished nothing.

Meanwhile, a video on YouTube with The Young Bucks explaining the video and their promo on FTR gathered a massive 21,000 dislikes compared to the 3,600 likes. The backstage footage was cut from the YouTube version.
