AEW trademarks “AEW Collison,” but is it a spelling mistake?

AEW has applied to trademark the name “AEW Collison” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, apparently misspelling the word “collision.”

Filed on February 15, the word mark was for “Educational and entertainment services, namely, a continuing program about wrestling accessible by radio, television, satellite, audio, video and computer networks; Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing series featuring wrestling provided through television and the internet; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling.”

Documents submitted also carry the incorrect spelling of the word and Wrestling-Online reached the attorney on record for clarification on the mark but no reply was received as of this writing.

The new filing might indicate that the name, presumably under the proper spelling, will be a new AEW show.
