AEW Spanish commentator fired over hot mic incident

Willie Urbina, the Dynamite Spanish commentator, has been fired from his position according to Dave Meltzer of the Observer.

Urbina was caught in a hot mic gaffe during a commercial break on the FITE TV broadcast of the show making fun of Hikaru Shida’s accent after Alex Abrahantes told him to translate what Shida said during her segment.

Both Thunder Rosa and Dasha Kuret – who were helping with commentary – told Urbina to stop as he kept talking like Shida.

Prior to joining AEW, Urbina also did Spanish commentary for Impact Wrestling.
