AEW Revolution pay-per-view moved to March 7

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the AEW Revolution pay-per-view is being moved from February 27 to March 7. Originally set for a Saturday, this would be the first AEW show on a Sunday night.

The move was done because on February 27 there’s a Canelo Alvarez boxing pay-per-view which the company didn’t want to go head-to-head with. AEW didn’t fare well when it went another sports pay-per-view in 2019, leading to the lowest buys for Full Gear that year.

Meltzer also noted that the March 6 date, a Saturday, was also floated but there’s UFC 259 on pay-per-view that day too so the decision was taken to book the first Sunday pay-per-view show on March 7.

AEW has yet to officially announce the new date. Revolution will see Sting get back in action for the first time since 2015.
