AEW absent from video showcasing Skydance’s assets

Skydance, the new name of the parent company of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, published a video of all the assets it has under its umbrella as well as clips from some of the shows that they have the rights for.

Notably absent from the video is AEW, which despite airing two shows – on TNT and TBS – and streaming on HBO Max, there was not a second spared to showcase it.

The UFC, which Paramount has a multi-year deal with, did make the cut and was part of the two-minute highlight reel.

AEW’s broadcast rights with WBD runs until the end of 2027 and there’s also an option year on the table which WBD can pick up, making the partnership last till the end of 2028. AEW President Tony Khan, who labels himself a loyal soldier for WBD, has remained bullish that AEW will eventually remain on the network for years to come.

The Skydance name was announced by David Ellison, who heads up the Paramount Skydance conglomerate and will soon, from next week, also control WBD in one of the biggest takeovers in history.
