Janel Grant’s case against Vince McMahon and WWE moves to private arbitration

The much talked about Janel Grant lawsuit against former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and WWE itself is now moving to private arbitration.

The move, to shift the lawsuit from public to private arbitration, has been long requested by Vince McMahon and WWE and long fought against by Grant and her attorneys.

But last month, something changed and Grant’s legal team eventually agreed to move it from the public eye, continuing to find a resolution away from all the media circus that such cases bring.

“Pursuant to the Court’s July 13, 2026 order, ECF No. 151, Plaintiff Janel Grant, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the “Parties”) jointly report that the Parties have executed an agreement to arbitrate their dispute,” Grant’s attorney Ann Callis wrote in a Joint Status Report.

“Pursuant to that agreement, within five business days, Plaintiff shall execute and cause to be filed a Stipulation of Voluntary Dismissal with Prejudice causing the action to be dismissed in its entirety, as to both remaining defendants, but without prejudice to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration.”

Grant’s team have tried to collect other witnesses and alleged victims of McMahon’s to bolster up their fight in court but rather than putting McMahon and WWE in front of a judge, it looks like this case will be settled behind closed doors.
