Multiple industry insiders are reporting that Brian “Road Dogg” James has not officially signed with TNA Wrestling yet and the WWE Hall of Famer was not present at this week’s television tapings.
James is expected to take over the role that Tommy Dreamer had in TNA and was at the Slammiversary pay-per-view, but with no deal reached between the two parties, Road Dogg stayed off the road.
Road Dogg recently left WWE after nearly four years, first as Vice President of Live Events and later running creative for Smackdown. He departed the company in May of this year after Smackdown was getting panned by fans for its creative direction. The show did not necessarily improve since his departure, but it was James who ended up leaving.
After Tommy Dreamer exited TNA last month, James’ name quickly popped up as a most-likely replacement.
