WrestleMania 42 Sunday pick’em report

Hello again everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA and we’re already back with the WrestleMania Sunday Pick’em. Last night was quite the roller coaster ride, and we’ve got some pretty close scores after WrestleMania Saturday.

To spice things up, we’re going to double the scores for picks on this second night of Mania action. That means each correct pick is worth TWO points! It’s anyone’s ballgame – who will leave WrestleMania XLII as the WOPC Champion? :Let’s find out right now,

ON WITH THE MANIA SUNDAY PICKS!!

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar

Colin: This has to be fast and furious. Vibes of Brock vs Goldberg from a few years back. Quick, short, and powerful. There’s only one result in this one: Oba HAS to beat Brock. The dude is going to be a major Superstar and a soon-to-be WWE champion. And he’s super over. Oba wins.

Bull: This one might be one of the hardest picks to make all weekend. In the end, I think that Brock is going to get the win in an awesome match.

Magnum: Ohh yes yes yes, I’m excited for this one. These two giants are going to beat the hell out of each other, and it’s going to be terrific. Knowing Brock’s history with being the opener on a card, I don’t foresee this match going longer than 10 minutes, although I could be wrong. I think Lesnar is going to dominate the first part of this match, and then we’re going to see Oba make the comeback and hit the Fall From Grace. The Beast…will be conquered. Oba wins.

WWE Intercontinental Championship – Six-Pack Ladder Match
Penta (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio

Colin: Hopefully this could be the match of the night. I was kinda hoping Fenix would be in it too but I guess three masks were already enough. Waiting for Je’Von Evans to do some crazy shit in this match but I don’t see anyone from this bunch beating Penta. Penta to retain.

Bull: I’m taking the sentimental favorite in this one – Je’Von Evans. I think the bouncy one will win the Intercontinental Championship.

Magnum: This is going to be a wild one. I think we’re going to see a power showcase by Rusev, and we’re going to see a Lucha showcase from Dragon Lee and Rey Rey. I also foresee some tricky ladder contraptions being built by JD, and I think that’s going to lead to things getting a little BOUNCY. In summary, everyone’s going to get their shine. In the end? This is going to be the biggest win of Penta’s life – Penta retains the Intercontinental Championship.

“The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio

Colin: Remember last year Dom was surprisingly enough the face in his match? Crowd exploded when he won. Finn needs to be back in his winning ways and with the Demon character coming back, I think that (hopefully) reassures it. But Dom is also the AAA Mega champ so it might not be a good look so I’m going to pick Dom just based on that.

Bull: The Demon lost the last time we saw him against Edge – this time, he’s going to exorcise those demons when he defeats Dirty Dom. Finn Balor wins.

Magnum: Ohh, Dom Dom. You really stepped in it this time. Man, if we’re talking Vegas odds…look at this. Balor is a -2000 favorite to win. If you put $100 down, you’d win $5 back. That’s not good news, Dom! Time to pay the piper. Balor wins.

WWE Women’s Championship
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

Colin: Ooof. I think this will be rough. Not because of Rhea, obviously. Jade is still green as grass in the ring but Rhea will be leading this one so it will be at least a bit bearable. I don’t know what’s going on with Rhea’s life and I hope she’s okay, but I have a feeling Cargill will retain tonight.

Bull: Jade has not had that strong of a run as champion, but that could all change with a career marking performance against the most popular female wrestler in the world right now in Rhea Bloody Ripley. I’m going to go with the surprise pick and take Jade Cargill to retain the title.

Magnum: Originally, I swore up and down that if Jade lost this match, it would be the end for her. That’s before she linked up with Michin and B-Fab. Now that she has a crew backing her…I actually like her chances less here, because I think it’s going to lead to a rematch down the road. Rhea is doing something that I’ve not seen in nearly 25+ years – she’s getting the biggest reaction of all the wrestlers. That’s including male and female wrestlers. They can’t have her lose here, even if it makes all the sense in the world to do so. I’m taking Rhea to overcome the odds and take back her WWE Championship.

WWE United States Championship
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams

Colin: This match should have been a triple threat match with Carmelo Hayes also involved. Trick, just like Oba, is going to be a major star. His time to shine is now and I predict we are going to have a new United States champion by the end of the night. Whoop that!

Bull: I’m going with WHOOP THAT TRICK in this one. I think his entrance will get one of the biggest pops of the entire weekend. When he wins, it’ll be an even bigger pop. I’ll take Trick to win the United States Championship.

Magnum: I was reading one of those DIRT SHEETS, brother…and they wrote that Oba Femi *needs* to beat Brock Lesnar for the health and survival of this company. I would make the exact same argument for Trick Williams right here and right now. Sami’s “I know who my fans are!” battle cry is hilarious, and it reminds me of 1997 Bret Hart…but if Sami wants to take it all the way with this turn, he needs to lose this match. Trick’s entrance, his hype…it’s all for nothing if he loses here. Spare me the first-timer jinx…and strike while the iron is hot! WHOOP THAT TRICK and take that US Title…now let’s talk about it. Trick wins the gold.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Colin: Oh man oh man. I genuinely don’t know how this will play out. I love Roman, but the thought of him leaving again for months with the title makes me angry. That title should be defended every month and Reigns cannot do that anymore. Punk has done a great job as champion and I think that will continue. Yes, I think Reigns is going to lose his THIRD WrestleMania main event in a row tonight. 40, 41, and 42! Punk retains.

Bull: Man, I hope there’s some fireworks in this one – would love to see some crazy stuff go down. I think we’ll have a few surprises that nobody sees coming – in the end, Roman Reigns will defeat CM Punk to become the NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Magnum: Oooo Doctor. This is the one. The final match of WrestleMania 42. Punk has finally made it. It’s one thing to be on the final match on Night One of last year’s Mania…but to be in the final match of the Mania card, for the World Championship…well, folks, Uncle Phil has finally made it. Unfortunately, for him…he’s pissed off a few Samoans along the way. There’s going to be some run-ins, and it should get crazy…but I’m will Bull – Roman is walking out of Vegas as the World Heavyweight Champion.

That’s going to do it for us here at the Pick’em report! Thank you for continuing to check us out here on Wrestling-Online! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
