Nixon Newell explains reasoning behind leaving Collision tapings

Explaining her actions after walking out from Collision along with her partner, Nixon Newell said that the three minutes which were allocated for their match was not going to help anyone.

“After the promo that we cut, we were told to make ourselves to be a credible tag team, all this stuff,” Newell said in a stream on Twitch. “So, that’s what we did and then we decided collectively as a partnership, a couple, a tag as wrestling independently, that three minutes is going to benefit no-one in this match.”

The Welsh star said they were polite and respectful and called over their producer, telling them that they want the best for everyone and they would prefer if this three-minute opportunity would go to someone who can benefit from it as it will not work out for them.

“There was never bad blood. We spoke to everyone involved. It wasn’t a, ‘F*ck you, we’re leaving’ at all,” Newell continued.

She said that afterward, AEW gave them the permission to leave because the venue was small and they needed to make space for people who would be on the show.

She also added that she received three death threats from AEW fans ever since this incident happened on Saturday.
