WWE Women’s World Championship presented to Rhea Ripley

A new Women’s World Championship was presented to Rhea Ripley last night in the opening segment of Monday Night Raw, with the title replacing the Smackdown Women’s title which she held.

The title is exactly the same as the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship which Seth Rollins won at Night of Champions but has a white leather strap instead.

The company did the same thing last week on Smackdown when they replaced the Raw Women’s title with the new WWE Women’s title. That title kept the lineage of the Raw Women’s title which originally was already the WWE Women’s title back in 2016.

The new WWE Women’s World title will keep the lineage of the Smackdown Women’s title which was introduced in September 2016 with Becky Lynch as the first champion.
