Nick Aldis announces he’s leaving NWA, gets suspended for giving his notice

Former NWA champion Nick Aldis, who has been at odds with the NWA for a while, announced via a video that he was leaving the promotion and gave his notice, citing unhappiness with the direction of the company.

Aldis was supposed to wrestle at the NWA Hard Times 3 pay-per-view next week in New Orleans, Louisiana, but now the NWA has suspended Aldis effective immediately.

“Pursuant to the recent comments made by Nick Aldis, the National Wrestling Alliance, has suspended Aldis from the main roster and effective immediately Aldis will not appear for the Hard Times 3 PPV and Revolution Rumble television tapings in New Orleans, LA on Nov. 12, 2022 and Nov. 13, 2022. As such, the National Wrestling Alliance reserves its right to comment on this matter at a future date,” a statement from the NWA read.

Reacting to the suspension, Aldis wrote on Twitter that despite his notice, he was ready to fulfill his obligations to the audience at the pay-per-view but “unfortunately the company doesn’t seem to share the same values.”

Aldis, who is married to Mickie James, has been with the NWA since 2017 and held the NWA title for 1,043 days.
