NBC renews Young Rock for third season

NBC has renewed Dwayne Johnson’s Young Rock comedy series for a third season.

The series, currently airing on Tuesdays in prime time, follows the career of Dwayne Johnson during different chapters of his life. This second season includes Johnson’s arrival in WWE in 1996.

Young Rock was created by Nahnatchka Khan, the sister of WWE President Nick Khan, and Jeff Chiang. Johnson, along with his business partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, serve as executive producers. Former WWE creative writer Brian Gewirtz also serves in the same role.

The series features Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui and Matthew Willig.

Season two is currently averaging 2.1 million viewers, down from the 3.0 million viewer average of season one.
