Meiko Satomura wins the NXT UK Women’s title

There’s a new boss in NXT UK division and her name is Meiko Satomura.

The ring veteran yesterday dethroned Kay Lee Ray to win the NXT UK Women’s title during an episode of NXT UK on the WWE Network. Ray had one of the longest WWE title runs in history, with 649 days as NXT UK Women’s champion.

Ray won the title from Toni Storm back on August 31, 2019 at NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff and held it ever since.

Satomura, who moved to NXT UK from Japan where she also serves as a coach, is the fourth woman to carry the title. Rhea Ripley was the inaugural champ in 2018.

The episode is available to watch on-demand on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
