Banks vs Belair to officially headline night one of WrestleMania 37

WWE has officially announced that Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair will be headlining night one of WrestleMania 37 tonight.

It’s going to be a historic night for Banks and Belair as they become the first African-American women to headline a WrestleMania and it is only the second time that women have had this honor following WrestleMania 35 where Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair had their moment.

In comments given to TheUndefeated.com, an emotional Banks thanked those who came before her for allowing her the opportunity to be able to do this. “I hope it just means to them that their hard work and efforts didn’t get unnoticed. It’s because of everything that they did that I’m here now, and I thank them so much.”

Belair also echoed her statements saying that both she and Sasha are a representation for all the Black women that came before them who laid a foundation and all the groundwork before them.

“It’s us physically in the ring, but they are in this match right along with us. So I just want them to know that we’re paying tribute to them, we’re honoring them, we’re representing for them. I want people to know that when they see us, I want them to see them as well. Because without them, this wouldn’t be happening,” she said.
