UFC champ Jon Jones says it’s “inevitable” that he will end up in WWE

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones said that he is interested in transitioning to WWE and he thinks it’s “inevitable” that one way or another he will end up there.

“I’ve always respected WWE, and I feel like the sports can be so similar,” Jones said. Defeating the top guys in the UFC light heavyweight division is narrowing his field of opponents unless he decides to step up to the heavyweight division.

“I have the size and athleticism and the following to transition over really well,” said Jones. “To get the opportunity to just show up, even as a special guest, would be a dream come true.”

There were talks of Jones taking on Brock Lesnar in the UFC last year but that deal eventually fell through and Brock decided to stick with WWE instead.

Cain Velasquez is the latest UFC star to transition from UFC to professional wrestling, signing a multi-year deal with WWE. He has not been used much ever since he made his WWE debut on the premiere episode of Smackdown last October.
