WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Valiant killed in auto accident

WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Valiant was killed yesterday after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a street in the morning around 5:30. The accident happened in Ross Township, a northern suburb of Pittsburgh.

Despite the paramedics’ best effort to keep him alive, Valiant, 71, succumbed to the injuries and died shortly afterward.

While he wrestled earlier on in his career, he was eventually best known to be a better manager, managing Hulk Hogan in the AWA and Brutus Beefcake in WWE. He was also the man behind The Dream Team in WWE, managing the tag team of Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine, and later adding Dino Bravo as well.

Valiant was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 1996.
