Former WWE cruiserweight Austin Aries issued a statement on his surprise departure from WWE.

“I’d like to thank WWE for the opportunity to perform for the amazing fans of the WWE Universe. I’d also like to thank the extremely talented and hard working people of WE, whom I had the pleasure to work, both in front of and behind the camera. I wish them continued health, happiness, and success as I move on to new endeavors,” the statement read.

Aries said that there will be some exciting announcements soon. It is believed that Aries is currently under a 90-day no-compete clause which is the standard of those who ask to leave.
