WWE buys $26.9 million property that houses production studios and AmeriCares

The Stamford Advocate is reporting that WWE has acquired the AmeriCares building where their television studios are located for approximately $26.9 million.

The building was on auction after its owner, Seaboard Realty, filed for bankruptcy. It covers a total of 190,000 square feet and has three tenants: WWE, AmeriCares, and Squash Alley. AmeriCares uses 90,000 square feet while Squash Alley uses 4,000. WWE currently uses 20,000 square feet to house their television studios and they plan to expand to 60,000 now that they own the building. The AmeriCares deal is under a long-term lease, which now WWE will list as an income.

“We expect our health programs and emergency response work to continue without interruption,” AmeriCares officials said in a statement. “WWE is honoring our lease, which runs through 2023, with options to renew through 2033.”

The building, situated on Hamilton Avenue, is around 1 mile away from WWE’s corporate headquarters and WWE has been using it for the past 16 years.
