Launch of the WWE Network in the United Kingdom delayed

It’s bad news for those living in the United Kingdom as WWE announced that the launch of the WWE Network in the region will be delayed and not starting on October 1 as originally advertised.

“The launch of @WWENetwork in the U.K. will be delayed given discussions with potential partners. A launch date will be announced by November 1,” the Twitter for the WWE Network said.

The news is not only bad because of the delay but because of the “discussions with potential partners,” as now the U.K. might probably get a deal similar to Canada where the Network is only available on a traditional television channel.

Sky in the United Kingdom has the exclusive rights for all the WWE shows and pay-per-views, with the monthly specials available on Sky Box Office.

Just recently WWE and Sky extended their partnership with a new television deal however there was no mention of WWE Network in their deal and both Sky and WWE refused to comment on the subject when the deal was announced.

A few days ago, iTunes gave out the prices of the WWE Network on the UK store, with prices similar to the $9.99 per month deal in the United States and offered an in-app purchase with six months paid upfront.
