WWE tag team the Lucha Dragons split up

Kalisto and Sin Cara, collectively known as the Lucha Dragons, have announced via a short video clip on WWE’s Facebook account that they have split up and will be now wrestling as singles.

“We have decided to go into the draft as singles competitors,” Sin Cara said in the video with Kalisto standing next to him. Kalisto said that they will continue to display the art of Lucha Libre no matter where they end up.

Kalisto and Sin Cara have been teaming up together since 2014, starting in NXT and eventually winning the NXT Tag Team titles at NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way from The Ascension. They made their main roster debut as a tag team in March 2015 on Raw the night after WrestleMania 31.

The two were not included in the tag team portion of the WWE Draft list earlier today so the split did not come as a total surprise.
