Shawn Michaels to appear on night one of the WWE UK Championship tournament

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be appearing at the WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, on June 18.

That will be night one of the two-night tournament at the iconic Royal Albert Hall with the featured match being WWE UK champion Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, and Trent Seven taking on The Undisputed Era in a six-man tag team match.

This will be WWE’s – and Shawn Michaels’ – first time back to the Hall since 1991. Back then, WWE held the Battle Royal at the Royal Albert Hall UK-only event which aired on Sky and Michaels was part of the opening match along with his tag team partner Marty Jannetty taking on The Nasty Boys. HBK is now a coach at the WWE Performance Center.

16 UK-based wrestlers will be participating in the tournament, with most of the first-round matches taking place at the Download Festival in two weeks time. The winner of each match will then advance to the Royal Albert Hall tournament where the winner will face Pete Dunne on night two.
