Brock Lesnar returns and wins the MITB briefcase

Former Universal champion Brock Lesnar made his presence felt at Money In The Bank last night and walked out of the XL Center with the briefcase.

Earlier in the broadcast, Sami Zayn was attacked and it was Braun Strowman who was thought to be the man behind it. Zayn replaced Strowman in the MITB ladder match so it was only natural to think it was him but Strowman claimed he was innocent and he did not attack Zayn.

And he was right! As the men’s MITB ladder match was coming to a close and Ali was about to grab the briefcase, Lesnar’s theme song hit the speakers to a big pop from the crowd. Lesnar sprinted to the ring and knocked Ali off the ladder. Lesnar got a ladder for himself, climbed up, and grabbed the briefcase.

This was his first appearance since WrestleMania where he lost the Universal title to Seth Rollins.

He now has one year to cash in the briefcase he won and the unpredictability of Lesnar will add some “suspense” to this cash in.

Lesnar was thought to be going to the UFC after WrestleMania but the former UFC Heavyweight champion changed his mind after his fee was deemed to be too high for the UFC. Lesnar then informed UFC President Dana White that he is retiring from MMA.
