Rampage, Aldo, both injured and both out of UFC 153

The UFC 153 show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took a massive hit yesterday as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Jose Aldo were announced to be out of the show due to injuries.

Rampage was set to co-main event the show against Glover Teixeira in what was supposed to be his last UFC fight. UFC is currently in the search for a replacement opponent.

“Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!” wrote UFC President Dana White on Twitter.

Meanwhile, on the same day but later, UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo was also announced to be dropping from his fight against Frankie Edgar due to a foot injury.

“Main and co main in the same day!! Another amazing day at the UFC. We have some work to do,” White tweeted later.

Aldo’s injury comes after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in Brazil last week and now the UFC has to fight yet another replacement fighter with one month to go.
