CM Punk and Colt Cabana win libel lawsuit against WWE doctor Chris Amann

The jury in the Amann/Punk/Cabana libel trial took just two hours of deliberation to decide that Punk and Cabana should not pay any damages whatsoever to WWE doctor Chris Amann over their podcast from November 2014.

Amann, who was looking for over $4 million in damages, walks away with absolutely nothing as all three counts against Punk and Cabana – defamation, false light defamation, and distribution – returned in favor of them.

CM Punk and his wife AJ cried as the verdict was read according to reporters inside the Cook County courtroom while Dr. Amann did not know what hit him.

The lawsuit by Dr. Amann was filed in February 2015 and dragged for over three years before it reached jury trial. A settlement was being negotiated before the trial but none of the sides agreed to it so the trial had to move on as scheduled.
