WWE to hold Smackdown from Madison Square Garden on September 10

PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE will be holding Friday Night Smackdown live from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York on September 10, the eve of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

MSG is expected to be operating at full capacity after the world’s most famous arena already held a concert full house last week. This will be WWE’s first show at MSG since the Boxing Day non-televised live event in December 2019.

WWE does not go to Madison Square Garden much for television tapings anymore due to the high costs that come associated with the venue, including using MSG’s own people for production etc. The company had a 10-year hiatus when it comes to TV from MSG and only returned for Raw and Smackdown in September 2019.
