WWE to hold first set of tapings for 32-women tournament in July

WWE will hold its first set of tapings for the women’s tournament on July 13 and 14 at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida according to PWInsider.com.

The much-anticipated 32-women tournament will be the third tournament on the WWE Network following the Cruiserweight Classic and the United Kingdom Championship tournament. Both tournaments were a hit with fans across the globe.

While the Cruiserweight Classic had new episodes weekly and the United Kingdom Championship was held over two days, the women’s tournament seems to be taking a different approach reports PWInsider.com. The current plan is to release a batch of episodes altogether and then release another group of episodes at a later date. The only live episode on the Network will be the finale which will take place sometime in August.

The tournament, which was rumored to be taking place this year for quite a while, was officially announced during WWE Business Partner Summit at the WrestleMania 33 weekend in Orlando. The announcement was made by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon along with Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka.
