WWE title match at Backlash now a no DQ match

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will go against each other for the third time in one month and once again the WWE title is up for grabs…but there’s a stipulation.

At the start of Smackdown last night, Smackdown General Manager Paige announced that due to the actions stemming from last Friday’s Greatest Royal Rumble, the title match will now be a no disqualification match.

AJ Styles won round one at WrestleMania via a clean pinfall but round two ended in a double count-out. Nakamura was the heavy favorite at WrestleMania in betting odds but Styles was the favorite, by just a few, at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

Also, the United States title will be on the line at Backlash as former champion Randy Orton will get another shot at the title currently held by Jeff Hardy.

This is the fifth title match that will be on the Backlash pay-per-view card, a card that will feature matches from both Raw and Smackdown. The only titles not on the line are the Tag Team titles from both brands and the Universal title.
