WWE ThunderDome and Capitol Wrestling Center cost over $20 million to make

The ThunderDome inside the Amway Center and the transformation of the WWE Performance Center to the Capitol Wrestling Center cost WWE over $20 million to make and run. The figure was given by Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen during a conference call with investors yesterday.

The sums of “$22 million to $27 million” were quoted as Salen said that WWE will have $40 million to $45 million in incremental fourth quarter expenses compared to this quarter.

Asked what will happen when WWE’s residency deal with the Amway Center comes to an end, Salen said that they anticipate to be in an arena similar to the Amway for the “foreseeable future,” through the end of 2020 and “likely into 2021.”

Salen added that since there aren’t many live events occurring in the United States or anywhere in the world right now, there are lots of places for them to go so the location is not a concern for the company.
