WWE Superstars and crew have landed safely and are in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ahead of tomorrow’s Crown Jewel premium live event.
The company took a skeleton crew to the Kingdom, with those in production who opted to go getting an extra $3,000 each in danger pay. Multiple insiders have also reported that there will be no commentary team at ringside and that will be done from the WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
In addition, a bulk of the TV production will be handled remotely as well from WWE HQ in a bid to take the least amount of personnel to successfully hold this show.
The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh promoted the show on its social media accounts today.
“American sports diplomacy comes to Riyadh! We are thrilled to share the excitement as WWE Crown Jewel returns to Saudi Arabia this weekend,” the statement said. “Crown Jewel is entirely created, owned, and produced by @WWE, a wholly American professional wrestling promotion headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut.”
It continued saying that American sports entertainment exports create shared unforgettable experiences, strengthening the bonds between the American and Saudi people.
Crown Jewel takes place tomorrow at Noon ET live from The Venue in Riyadh.
