WWE raised a total of $213,000 during the Answer the Call campaign in benefit of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund during SummerSlam week.
The money came from 40 different once-in-a-lifetime auctions that WWE created in partnership with Charitybuzz.com where fans could bid for experiences with WWE Superstars and Divas, as well other sports and entertainment celebrities.
“We are honored that WWE chose to support ‘Answer the Call’ for the families of New York City’s fallen first responders,” said Mark Messier, Vice President of Community Affairs for the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. “Through this partnership, we collectively raised more than $200,000, which will ensure that we continue to provide a network of support and financial assistance for those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty.”
Proceeds from this auction will provide assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police and EMS Personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
