Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting through his Select service that it took WWE President Nick Khan to negotiate with Ron “R-Truth” Killings to bring him back after the 53-year-old ignored attempts by the company earlier in the week.
Truth was notified by a talent relations employee rather by someone with a higher pay grade, and considering he was 17 years in, that felt a little bit disrespectful.
Khan entered the picture when everything else failed to get in touch with Killings and then the two sides had to do some compromising on each end to reach a new deal according to Sapp.
One of the things that Truth wanted was to use his real name of Ron Killings moving forward and probably the comedy character is also going away with the name. At his age, this is Killings’ last probable run anywhere and wants it to be meaningful after spending almost two decades as a comedy character.
The whole deal came about within 72 hours of Money In The Bank and it’s safe to say that everyone backstage was elated to see him back.
Truth’s dismissal caused an unprecedented outrage from fans and peers alike and while Triple H said it was “all part of the show,” it was anything but.
