WWE on-screen talent is first employee to test positive for coronavirus

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com revealed that WWE reported its first case of coronavirus among its talent.

The person infected is not a member of the roster but an on-screen talent according to Satin. The name of the person was not revealed.

WWE confirmed the news and issued a statement saying, “A WWE employee has tested positive for COVID-19. We believe this matter is low risk to WWE talent and staff, as the individual and a roommate became symptomatic in the days following exposure to two people working in acute health care on the evening of March 26, after WWE’s TV production on a closed set was already complete,” the statement said. “The employee had no contact with anyone from WWE since being exposed to those two individuals, is doing well, and made a complete recovery.”

All talent went home for 14 days following the conclusion of the WrestleMania tapings.

The company taped Smackdown last night, the first tapings since WrestleMania 36 was recorded over two weeks ago. WWE resumes live broadcasts from next week.
