WWE head writer in charge of creative gets the pink slip

Dave Meltzer of the Observer is reporting that Tom Casiello, WWE’s head writer, was fired by the company yesterday. In a post on Twitter, Casiello wrote that “it’s all good” and “I believe they call this feeling weightless.’”

Casiello has been writing since 1998 on shows such as Another World, As The World Turns, Days of Our Lives, One Life to Live, and The Young and the Restless before joining WWE in April 2011.

In December 2015 he was promoted to his latest position where he oversaw the writing teams of all original shows for WWE, as well as multiple projects for the WWE Network, WWE Publications, long term stories through the year, and scripts for all weekly televised programming.

Casiello is a two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner for his writing on As The World Turns in 2001 and 2002.
