WWE clairfies its position on $5 million donation to Donald J. Trump Foundation

A recent $5 million donation to the Donald J. Trump Foundation sparked some debates as some pointed it towards the Vince and Linda McMahon Foundation just days after Trump pulled a publicity stunt and offered the same amount to a charity if President Obama releases his college and passport applications.

Linda McMahon was getting the heat for most of it and yesterday, a WWE spokesman revealed that it wasn’t the couple’s Foundation or WWE who made the donation, but it was Vince McMahon on his own.

Linda is running TV ads in Connecticut urging voters to vote for her and President Barack Obama – despite she being a Republican – at the upcoming elections. Earlier this year, Vince and Linda McMahon donated $150,000 to the pro-Mitt Romney super PAC Restore Our Future.

The WWE is listed at the top contributor to the Trump Foundation and the company confirmed that it paid the Donald $1 million to appear at WrestleMania in 2007.
