WWE champion vs Universal champion to headline this year’s Survivor Series

The main event of this year’s Survivor Series will follow the same formula of the past few years where the WWE champion will battle the Universal champion.

As things stand right now, it’s Big E vs Roman Reigns but that could change depending on the outcomes of the Crown Jewel pay-per-view where Big E defends against Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns defends against Brock Lesnar.

Last year, Reigns defeated McIntyre in a non-title match and in 2019, the women took center stage with Shayna Baszler defeating Becky Lynch and Bayley in a triple threat main event match.

Other champion vs champion matches and a couple of traditional Survivor Series matches with Team Raw vs Team Smackdown will also take place.

This year will mark 25 years of the arrival of The Rock, with the People’s Champion making his debut at the 1996 Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden. There were rumors that WWE were in discussion with Dwayne Johnson so he can be featured somehow but no announcements have been made yet.
