WWE Board of Directors investigation on Vince McMahon concluded

The WWE Board of Directors investigation on Vince McMahon and the alleged hush money case has been concluded. The news was part of the press release issued yesterday to announce WWE’s Q3 2022 financial results.

The dent in operating income, which was down 8% year-over-year, was partly blamed on the expenses to cover the cost of the Special Committee investigation into McMahon.

“For the three and nine-month periods ended September 30, 2022, the Company’s consolidated pre-tax results include the impact of $17.7 million and $19.4 million, respectively, associated with certain costs related to the investigation,” the press release said.

The results of the investigation were not revealed and it’s unclear if they ever will be. McMahon is no longer part of WWE’s decision-making, stepping down from all his roles within the company, although he remains the largest shareholder of WWE.

With the investigation complete, the Special Committee has now been disbanded.
