USADA to keep drug-testing Lesnar until he retires from UFC again

MMAFighting.com is reporting that USADA – the UFC’s anti-doping agency – will keep drug testing Lesnar until he announces his retirement again from the UFC.

With Lesnar placed back on the UFC roster, UFC/USADA rules state that as a fighter he will be tested out-of-competition as well. “To my knowledge, Brock Lesnar has not notified USADA of his retirement from the UFC,” USADA spokesman Ryan Madden said. “Therefore, he remains subject to USADA testing and the UFC anti-doping policy.”

Mark Hunt originally complained that Lesnar was not tested months before the fight as UFC rules state that a fighter must give notice four months in advance if he intends to fight again so he – or she – can be tested out-of-competition as well. UFC waived off that rule for Lesnar, who returned in less than two months and was tested six times by USADA since his return was announced.

Lesnar is also subject to the WWE Wellness Policy so technically the former champ is subject to two different anti-doping policies.
