I think we’ve all grown to expect some sexual content in episodes, but this episode simply made me cringe. It all began with the twins still on their babymoon turned family vacation. First of all, I would just like to say that the twins should probably undergo major therapy for the problems that have with separation. I mean, if one twin can’t even go on a vacation with her husband without the other one tagging along, then I think you have a serious problem.
Furthermore, what’s their mom doing tagging along? Talk about killing the romantic mood! However, there is one Bella twin who doesn’t mind discussing her sexuality with anyone. Nikki Bella has apparently been feeling extremely amorous during her pregnancy. This fact, has frightened her fiancé, Artem, who doesn’t feel comfortable having sex with her until after the baby is born. Maybe I am not up to date on the latest medical findings, but I always thought that after a certain point in one’s pregnancy, doctors didn’t recommend sex, but I guess I was wrong. Apparently, none of Nicole’s usual methods of seducing Artem have been working, so she is resorted to swimming in the pool completely naked!
Artem’s Russian upbringing has made him very conservative when it comes to sexuality. So, his fiancée’s nude swimming has embarrassed him. He was so embarrassed, that he even asked Nicole’s sister, Brie for help in getting Nicole to stop. Brie suggested pretending that a neighbor had actually observed Nicole’s naked swimming, and was nervous about their kids having seen it as well. They even suggested that children were possibly traumatized by their observations.
Nicole refused to believe this, claiming that he was still hot even while pregnant and there was no way the kids were traumatized. No matter what suggestions Brie and Artem made, Nicole insisted that she would continue to swim nude if she felt like it. Later, in a private conversation with her sister, Nicole admitted that the reason for her nude swimming excursions was that she was trying to get her fiancé’s attention.
Nicole then explained to Brie that Artem was refusing to have sex with her; which was making her feel ugly. Brie then made what I think was a terrible suggestion. She suggested that her husband talk to Artem about his phobia of having sex while Nicole was pregnant. I think this is the worst suggestion that Brie could have possibly made. Bryan is an extremely private person, and he and Artem had just begun developing a friendship. I think that men are comfortable discussing their sex lives even with her closest friends sometimes. So I don’t know what on earth would make Brie and Nicole think that Bryan and Artem would be comfortable discussing this topic.
Being the wonderful husband that Bryan is, he agreed to talk to Artem. He explained to Artem that according to Brie’s doctor, it is actually healthy for pregnant women to experience orgasm and causes the baby to be healthy as well. I didn’t know that. I guess, you learn something new every day. Meanwhile, the twins; mother, Kathy, planned a baby shower for the two of them. However, she may have had some ulterior motives.
Nicole and her brother, JJ, haven’t been speaking recently due to both disagreements regarding politics, and Nicole’s renewed relationship with their father. Kathy has been understandably distressed by the feud between her children, and saw the baby shower as a perfect opportunity to mend the broken relationships.
The twins felt as though because it was their baby shower they should be able to choose their own guest list, which didn’t include their brother, or his wife, Lauren. However, after Kathy consulted with the new therapist that the twins arranged for her to see, she decided to allow the twins to choose their own guest list, and in the end Nicole decided to invite her brother’s wife.
JJ also reached out to the twins at the shower through a video call. Perhaps, there is a chance for a reconciliation before the twins babies arrive. We will just have to wait and see.
