The IInspiration refuse invite for the women’s Royal Rumble match

Mickie James was not the only former WWE star under an Impact deal contacted by WWE to be part of the Royal Rumble as Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay, collectively now known as The IInspiration, were also offered a similar spot.

But the duo formerly known as The IIconics slammed the proverbial forbidden door shut, and refused to be part of the show. Both of them were released from WWE after WrestleMania last year, joining over 80 other Superstars who were given the pink slip throughout the year.

Sapp adds that Impact Wrestling was okay with having Lee and McKay appear and signed off on it but discussions stopped after the Impact Knockout Tag Team champions refused to invitation.

Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Lita, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Summer Rae, and Mickie James are so far the non-contracted stars who will be appearing at the Rumble. In total there are 21 women announced, with nine remaining.
