SummerSlam 2020 weekend coming to Boston, Massachusetts

Next year’s SummerSlam will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, at the TD Garden on Sunday, August 23. The news was announced via the Boston Globe.

The TD Garden will also host Smackdown, NXT Takeover: Boston, and Monday Night Raw during that weekend, with Smackdown on Friday, August 21, Takeover on Saturday, August 22, and Raw on Monday, August 24.

“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer to Boston in 2020,” WWE Executive Vice President for Special Events John P. Saboor said. “We are grateful to Mayor Walsh, Governor Baker and our partners at TD Garden and look forward to working with them to welcome the world to one of America’s great sports and entertainment cities.”

Boston has not hosted a SummerSlam since 2006. Los Angeles and Brooklyn hosted SummerSlam for the past six and four years respectively before WWE decided to move this year’s SummerSlam to Toronto.
