Stephanie Vaquer crowned new WWE Women’s World champion

The WWE Women’s World title is no longer vacant and a new champion was crowned last night at Wrestlepalooza.

Coming in a month later than expected, Stephanie Vaquer defeated former champion Iyo Sky in the best match of the night for her first title on the main roster. Vaquer pinned Sky after landing her picture-perfect Spiral Tap finisher.

The two hugged after the match and Sky handed Vaquer her title. Vaquer’s father, who flew in from Chile, was at ringside and she went over to him for a long hug and gave him the title to celebrate afterward.

Vaquer was supposed to take on Naomi for the title at Clash in Paris last month but the match was bumped from the card after Naomi announced she was pregnant and relinquished the title.
