Smackdown TV report for 05/27/2022

Arena: Simmons Bank Arena
City: North Little Rock, AR

Smackdown opens with a recap of the tag team title unification match last week.

The Usos come out first. They start out by thanking the Tribal Chief. Then they talk about yesterday being their 12-year anniversary in the WWE. They then thank the Universe for being there with them because they love coming out and entertaining the crowd. The crowd starts chanting for The Usos. Jimmy then says they realized after the 12 years they didn’t need anyone but each other and the crowd then begins to boo!

Shinsuke Nakamura comes out and challenges The Usos for the tag team championship with his partner. Usos asked him where his partner was because Rick Boogs is busted up. Shinsuke says here he is, and Riddle comes out.

They begin to fight and the Usos roll out of the ring and Riddle and Nakamura standing in the ring.

We then see a highlight of the Ronda Rousey open challenge last week.

As Raquel Rodriguez comes to the ring, they show Shotzi giving a pep talk to the ladies in the back and asking why they keep getting passed up for Raquel Rodriguez.

Raquel Rodriguez VS. Ronda Rousey

While Rodriquez had Rousey up in a back breaker, Shayna Baszler and Natalya attack Rodriguez.

Rousey then got up and began fighting off Baszler and Natalya, knocking both ladies out of the ring and as we go to break Ronda and Raquel were standing tall in the ring.

Back from break we now have a tag team match

Ronda Rousey & Raquel Rodriguez VS. Natalya & Shayna Baszler

Baszler and Rousey stare down after Rodriguez kicked Baszler into Rousey until Natalya pulls Rousey out of the ring and as Baszler was watching what was going on out on the floor, Rodriguez grabbed her and gave her the one-armed powerbomb for the win.

Winners: Raquel Rodriguez & Ronda Rousey

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods need to find a tag team partner to face the team of Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland tonight.

They advertise Madcap Moss returning next week.

Los Lotharios VS. Jinder Mahal & Shanky

Shanky was dancing making fun of Angel. In the ring Mahal distracted by the action outside, Humberto jumped off the second rope and kicked Mahal in the head and pinned Mahal.

Winners: Los Lotharios

After the match, Mahal yelled at Shanky and Shanky put his hand to his face and began dancing again.

In the back Max Dupri walks into meet with Adam Pearce and Pearce says his papers are signed and Dupri is officially on Smackdown.

Kevin Owens comes out to host the KO Show. They announce it will be a member of the Bloodline that Owens will be interviewing.

Owens introduces his guest Sami Zayn. Sami gives Owens a big hug. Zayn says Ezekiel and Elias are clearly the same person and he doesn’t see how anyone couldn’t see it. Owens falls into his arms again. Owens wants Zayn to come to Raw and call out all the liars on Raw.

Zayn says he can’t now is not a good time as the Bloodline needs him and called Owens Uce.

Zayn begins to argue with Owens, and they call each other morons, Owens then calls out the Bloodline and they don’t come out and Owens and says the Bloodline doesn’t care anything about him. Owens then says just forget all this stuff and come to Raw with me and Zayn pushes Owens and says he has a locker room to lead. Owens gets back in the ring and stuns the guys starting to take down the set.

Drew Gulak & Ricochet VS. Gunther & Ludvig Kaiser

Ricochet gets thrown out of the ring hard by Kaiser, but Gulak had tagged in prior to Ricochet getting thrown out. Kaiser then with a kick to the chest of Gulak for the pin.

Winners: Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser

In the back, Sami is with the Usos and asked for the truth what they think of him. He said they are blood but said he could be like an honorary Uce and the Usos say sure. And Sami leaves the locker room with joy.

Sheamus, Butch & Ridge Holland VS. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Drew McIntyre

After a Claymore to Ridge Holland, Xavier Woods goes to the top rope and drops the elbow for the win.

Winners: Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Drew McIntyre
