Security guard sues WWE over alleged incident that happened in 2013

The Courthouse News Service is reporting that a security guard is suing WWE and a bunch of wrestlers for an incident which happened at a 2013 event at the Savannah Civic Center in Savannah, Georgia.

In a complaint filed in Chatham County Court, Troy Rivers says he was hired strictly as a security guard for the WWE non-televised live event and while his job was only to stand with his back to the ring and monitor the crowd, he got “struck about the head, neck and back by a folding chair” without any warning.

Rivers does not know who hit him since his back was against the ring although he believes it was Dean Ambrose. Since he doesn’t know who hit him, the lawsuit also names everyone who worked the show that night including John Cena, Kane, Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Seth Rollins, and others.

His wife, who is a plaintiff in the case, says that the incident now deprives her of “conjugal fellowship” with her husband. Her husband claims that because of gross negligence of WWE, he is suffering from “physical and mental anguish, diminishment of his earning capacity, and continues to suffer a loss of enjoyment of life.” Rivers is seeking unspecified punitive and compensatory damages.

In a statement, WWE said that they don’t have any knowledge of such incident and the security company which was hired to look after the event and which hired Rivers doesn’t have any record of it either.
