Saturday Night’s Main Event November 1 pick’em report

Hello Everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with a very special edition of the Pick’em report. Many of our fans here at Wrestling-Online grew up in the 1980’s and 90’s watching Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC, so tonight we thought it’d be fitting to put the WOPC Championship on the line in a Saturday Night’s Main Event Pick’em! Colin has been steadfast as champion for a number of months, but let’s see what happens when he defends the title in a Confidence Pool Pick’em!! As of this writing, we’ve got four huge Championship matches planned. Colin and I will put 4 points on the highest confidence pick, and only 1 point on the pick we’re least confident about. With that in mind, what are we waiting for?!

ON WITH THE PICKS!

WWE Women’s Championship
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill

Colin: I am glad they pulled the trigger on Jade’s heel turn. She was doing nothing as a face despite the potential being there. I think being a heel suits her better and while I like Tiff as the champ, I think it’s time to switch things up a little bit. Jade lost a couple of title shots along the way, but tonight is her night. Jade wins! – 3 points

Magnum: Let’s start this off with a bang – Jade’s winning the title. There’s not a doubt in my mind about this one. Her recent turn on Smackdown showed the side that is most natural for her – she’s a born heel. She’s ruthless, she’s mean, and she’s paid her dues. Tiffany is the longest reigning champion in WWE – that ends on Saturday Night. Jade wins the title – 4 points

WWE Intercontinental Championship – Triple Threat
Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta vs. Rusev

Colin: I would love for Penta to get his hands on some gold. Dirty Dom is already the AAA Mega champ and doesn’t need two belts to run around with. But I have a feeling he will find a way to weasel his way out and win this match and retain. Dom retains – 1 point

Magnum: Now, this is a dangerous play in the Confidence Pool Pick’em. Both Colin and I could conceivably lose this pick, which could make a difference in the final score. Now, having said that…I’ve read some reports about Dirty Dom facing John Cena at the Survivor Series for the one championship John has never held – the Intercontinental Championship. The only way that can happen is for Mysterio to win this match. So let’s run with the rumors – I’ll take Dirty Dom to retain – 3 points

World Heavyweight Championship – Title Vacant
CM Punk vs. Jey Uso

Colin: I don’t think Jey as champion worked to be honest. The road to getting there was exciting but once he got the title…meh. Yeah, he has a great entrance and is super over with the crowd, but something is just missing. On the other hand, Punk is just…built for this. I would be really, really shocked if Punk doesn’t win tonight. Time for Punk to have a proper run with the gold. CM Punk gets it! – 4 points

Magnum: Woof! This is probably the most challenging pick of the evening. I feel like they need to put the title on Punk to keep this thing with him and The Vision going – some have speculated that Punk will actually JOIN The Vision and reunite with Paul Heyman. Wouldn’t that be wild? Anyways, I’ll roll with Punk here – 2 points

Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Colin: Cody’s second run has been somewhat of a dud, hasn’t it? Maybe not his fault, but it pales in comparison to his first run. I don’t think the addition of the stipulation changes things much here, unless Drew has a plan to screw Cody and have someone attack him to get Cody DQed. It would be a clever way to lose the title while keeping Rhodes strong by not getting pinned. But anyway, somehow, QB1 will come out on top in this one. Give me a Cody win. – 2 points

Magnum: Now, here’s the one where I am willing to take a chance. I don’t think Drew is going to become the WWE Champion, per se, but I don’t think this is the last chapter between these two. Something’s going to happen that allows Drew one final crack at the title – he could win it here and defend it at Survivor Series, or he could win by DQ and get his last shot down the road…either way, I am willing to go with Drew winning this match, but I’m only going to put 1 point on it. – 1 point

That’s going to do it for us – we’ll be back later in November for SURVIVOR SERIES: WAR GAMES! From all of us here at Wrestling-Online, thank you for checking us out! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
