Samoa Joe makes his NXT debut at Takeover: Unstoppable

Former TNA World champion Samoa Joe made his long-anticipated debut in NXT last night during the final moments of NXT Takeover: Unstoppable.

Joe came out after Kevin Owens destroyed Sami Zayn and then attacked William Regal after the main event was over. The two faced off as the crowd went bananas however the NXT champion backed off and avoided physical confrontation.

The multiple-time TNA title holder has signed a deal with WWE that will see him wrestle for NXT for now but he can also entertain independent dates outside the company. A merchandise deal is believed to be included as well, giving WWE the rights to market his apparel.

Joe visited NXT last month and was in talks with Triple H about coming in. During a conference call on Tuesday, Triple H was asked about Joe but kept it a secret, saying that Joe liked what he saw but they don’t know when they would do business together.

Apart from one match against Essa Rios on Velocity, Joe has never worked for WWE. He also becomes the first TNA main eventer to come in WWE.
