Sami Zayn to serve as guest referee in WWE Championship match on Smackdown

The WWE championship match on next week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown will feature Sami Zayn as the special guest referee.

Zayn as the ref was the stipulation which Gunther chose for the match, perhaps thinking that he won’t get screwed again by another referee like at Clash in Italy.

Zayn and Cody also traded slaps on the broadcast after Zayn lost his cool when Cody told him he’ll never be WWE champion. Sami had instant regret and tried to apologize, but Rhodes returned the favor.

The match for the WWE title will headline next week’s episode of Smackdown live from Kansas City.
